BLESS MY HOMELAND FOREVER
“Hello! Hello! So deeply grateful to return!”
I step gingerly onto
where I belong
Where I can
breathe freely
and listen
to the bugles
of mating Sand Hill Cranes
passing by
on their way to
somewhere else.
Somewhere else is not
where I wish to be
For I am a grateful soul
part hermit
Who ponders and piddles and kisses
all animals
Rescue Animals.
As I am also
a rescue animal
As I will always be.
At my refuge of croaking frogs
cottontail bunnies
art
music
dance
And my precious treehouse looking over
a lake of blessings
for my soul.

Meldrum Poetry Workshop
It is the death date of my son who passed many years earlier (1971).
I have had yet another surgical procedure.
Grateful am I, to friends and family.
